Que up the road trip songs, stock up on the best supply of food, and bring on the fun with the best entertainment if you are planning to see the natural beauty of Australia in your RV. Coming up with fun activities while travelling with should be the least of your worries. These four fun family activities will keep the “are we there yet?” to a minimal.

Bring out the classics

Having fun while on the road doesn’t need a whole lot of money. You just need one thing, and that is fun. Bring out the classics such as board and card games that will keep your family entertained for hours. If you are looking to spice it up a little you can play games like Charades and I spy. Not only are these games entertaining, but you don’t have to bring anything to play them.

Go bushwalking

This is an extremely popular past time amongst Aussies. This comes as no surprise with an eclectic array of landscape that Australia on offer. If you part of the 30 to 54-year-old age group that makes up 47% of the domestic caravan, and it so happens that you’re travelling with children, the distance there could be a long stretch. Bushwalking will give you the opportunity to stretch those limbs that have been sitting for a while, and explore the untouched scrub and forest. Whether you opt to journey deeper into the bush or explore the coastal lines, it will act as a much need sanctuary for you. The children will also love the endless places that they can explore, but make sure you keep an eye on them.

Scavenger Hunt

A scavenger hunt is entertaining for both adults and children. As an adult you can join in on the fun by planning the scavenger hunt, and hiding treasures around your selected site. Create a list of what needs to be found, and watch their eyes sparkle from excitement to be the first one to find it. Before you carry out the games it’s advisable that you check the area for any possible objects or plants that can possibly harm them. Set boundaries that they cannot go beyond by having extra eyes that will keep an eye out for them. Then it’s all systems go.

Eating challenge

In this challenge playing with your food is encouraged for maximum fun. The eating challenge is excellent for children in groups of 4 to 6. Pair up the children, and have one of them stand behind their partner. If the vehicle is moving and does not allow for standing, have them sit on top of each other. The child in front cannot use their hands, as they will be relying on the child behind them to be their hands to feed them a bowl of custard or yoghurt. Make sure that whatever they will be feeding each other can be served cold for safety purposes. Have them challenge each other to see who will finish their bowl first. Let the fun begin!
