Located in the centre of McLaren Vale, a visit to this cellar door allows you to explore heritage buildings beautifully preserved and restored and learn about the history of the world-famous Hardys Tintara. Observe a working winery in action, and taste some of Hardy's award-winning wines.

Step back in time at The Almond Train, a converted 1920s train carriage located next to Hardys Tintara in the centre of the town. It’s an iconic tourist attraction in McLaren Vale, delighting visitors for over 30 years. Inside the train carriage you can buy a wide selection of local gourmet foods, including flavoured almonds, olives, olive oils, old-fashioned lollies, chocolates, and dried fruits.

Nestled amidst the rolling vineyards of McLaren Vale stands the eccentric d'Arenberg Cube, a five-story building shaped like a Rubik's Cube. The Cube boasts a striking cubist design, with its floors stacked at seemingly impossible angles, creating a visual illusion of defying gravity. Located in the d'Arenberg winery, the Cube houses the Alternate Realities Museum and a world-famous collection of Salvador Dali's surrealist artworks, including original versions of his famous Soft Watch, a melting pocket watch draped over a tree branch.

Victor Harbor is a delightful coastal town on the Fleurieu Peninsula, about 30 mins  drive from McLaren Vale. It is a popular destination for whale watching from late May to November, as it is a breeding ground for Southern Right Whales. Visitors can either take a whale-watching tour from the South Australian Whale Centre in the centre of Victor Harbor, or observe whales relaxing close to shore while taking a horse-drawn tram ride across a causeway to Granite Island, where you can observe a colony of Fairy Penguins.
